📊 Phase 2 Analysis (Sec. 63-99)
Phase 2 marks a revolutionary structural change. Crimes that were at the end of the IPC (like Defamation or Marriage offences) or in the middle (Sexual offences) are now prioritized:
- Gender Neutrality for Children: Many offences against children in this range now use gender-neutral language.
- New Offence (Sec 69): Explicitly criminalizes sexual intercourse by "deceitful means" (promise of marriage, false promotions).
- Consolidation: Rape laws and their variations (aggravated, gang rape) are grouped tightly from 63 to 72.
Section 69: A major addition specifically targeting "Love Jihad" style deceit or false promises for sexual gains.
Shift: Dowry Death (80) and Cruelty (85) are now much earlier in the code compared to IPC 304B and 498A.
